Preparation of seed beds |
|
Seed beds may be of any size as per the
requirement. Generally 3 feet wide and 15 feet
long is an ideal size for a big nursery. These
beds should be made on ground either with red
baked bricks or hollow cement blocks. Start

Germinating media |
|
Most palms can cope readily with a raising
mix, based on 1:1 parts of coco peat (dust
collected from coconut fiber) and river sand
or builder’s fine grain sand. Sand should be
cleaned, washed and preferably sieved. Two
much fresh coco peat will ferment and cause
problems to the germinating seed as it breaks
